Estimator for Die Cutting & Finishing

Die Cutting & Finishing Estimator

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan press layouts and other production methods for each estimate.

  • Coordinate with customer service / estimating departments both internally and at affiliated companies to obtain accurate pricing on external production functions.

  • Obtain competitive pricing from affiliated vendors for materials and services as needed including quotes from multiple sources for comparison.

  • Work with production supervisors and management as needed to answer technical questions regarding projects.

  • Use estimating tools (software, standards, etc.) to compile estimated costs that will be both competitive for the customer and profitable for the company.

  • Manage printing projects from receipt of specs from sales to final invoice

  • Plan production procedures and design the layout for each project based on product specs and production capabilities

  • Coordinate with production department and outside vendors to meet the timelines and clients’ expectations

  • Generate POs for raw materials (paper, inks, dies, outside operations, etc)

  • Create internal dockets for production

  • Support sales team to ensure satisfaction of customer needs

  • Participate in daily production meetings to communicate with other departments.

 

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of printing process and terminology required.

  • Knowledge of graphic arts, specifically lithographic printing, Die Cutting, & Finishing

  • Ability to plan the job and visualize all steps and materials.

  • Estimating jobs for sheet-fed presses & finishing equipment.

  • Excellent mathematical calculation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid experience using Microsoft Office programs (Excel and Word)

  • Demonstrate strong time management and multi-task management skills in daily activities.

  • Need to manage more than 20 projects daily

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Extremely detail oriented

  • Strong problem analyzing and solving skills

  • Willing to learn and like challenges

  • Able to performance under pressure
